Extended family shoots are so important! When one of your best friends calls and asks you to photograph her husband’s extended family as a gift to her father-in-law, you do a little happy dance. I love working with extended families, I love to watch all the interactions between family members. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a big extended family, I’m not sure but I am inspired by all the layers of family.
We had a beautiful October day and the weather was unseasonably warm – YAY! We were able to get lots of different shots in, we started with the whole family together. Once we got those shots, we took photos of each individual family, including a couple of maternity shots for the family-to-be. Last but not least, we got a few shots of grandpa and all of his grandchildren. I think it’s so important for grandparents to get photographed with their grandchildren – these photos create a family heirloom.
Thanks D Family for inviting me to share this beautiful day capturing your bond.
