Exploring in Francis Park | Family Photographer St. Louis

I started photographing this sweet family of 3 when this little guy was only 9 months old. They have booked a session with me every year since! We typically schedule our shoot for January (near this little guy’s birthday), but this year they wanted a warmer weather session. Because we shifted from a winter shoot to a summer shoot, it had been about a year and a half since I had seen my little buddy – let me tell you, I honestly started to tear up! He had grown so much. I told his mom that I felt like he was one of mine that I hadn’t seen in too long and it made me sad. She totally got me and didn’t think I was crazy – at least I hope she didn’t.

Anyway, we had so much fun shooting in Francis Park. All our other shoots had to be in locations that we could shoot in the winter which didn’t typically leave us many options. I had never been to this park before so I was a bit out of my comfort zone but we incorporated that in our session. We explored and they showed me their favorite spots. This family used to live right near this park but they moved a few years ago so being back in their old stomping grounds made the shoot that much more meaningful.
