I adore this Kirkwood family!
I am sure that I’m not supposed to say this but this Kirkwood family is special to me. Our journey together includes much more than family photos. I have known this mama for many years. When I started out on our homeschooling journey, she was there with encouraging words and wise advice. I looked forward to chatting with her every week and hoping to soak up all of her wisdom. Unfortunately, we no longer get to see each other every week but I am so grateful for her friendship over the years and I adore photographing her and her sweet, sweet family!
Crazy, foggy day.
When this mama called me to chat about getting some updated family photos, I was so excited because I wanted to see her and I love photographing her family. Unfortunately, they had only one day available around the Thanksgiving when all of her kiddos would be in town – luckily I was available. Well, when the day arrived, we were greeted with tons of fog. We went back and forth about whether we should cancel but we decided that since it was basically the only day they had available, we went for it. I can say that I love the way the photos turned out, the fog adds something unique to the photos. The beautiful pond at Des Peres Park Can we also give a bit round of applause for the coordinating outfits/colors?
Second time around…
Our session on this very foggy November day was the second time I have photographed this family. The first time was several years ago and I can honestly say that we had the best time. Photographing older children is a little more intimidating than photographing families with younger children. The terrible jokes and fart noises that I rely on to make younger kids laugh, surprisingly don’t have the same effect on teens and young adults – imagine that!
More siblings, more fun
This precious couple have seven children who have grown up to become seven amazing young adults. In addition, they have gained a son-in-law and for this session, they even included their *bonus* son who is a foreign exchange student. Yes, you counted that right – 9 “children” – and I have trouble keeping up with 3!
Thanks {J} Family!
I am so grateful for your friendship all these years and I adore working with you to preserve your precious family memories!
