{Mommy + Me} Spring Session | Kirkwood Children’s Photographer

Mommy + Me sessions are so sweet! Because I had already photographed this family in the fall, Mom thought that this spring session would be perfect for her and her only daughter to get some much needed girl time. As we were planning for the session, Mom let me know that she wanted her daughter to wear a very special dress. This dress is handmade by the Women’s Exchange right here in St. Louis. Apparently they are a “thing”. Not being from St. Louis originally, I am learning all about this sweet tradition. So of course, we had to get as many photos of the dress as possible.

In addition to some photos of Mom and her little girl smiling at the camera, I really wanted to focus our session on their interaction with each other. I wanted Mom to be able to look back at these photos in years to come and remember the sweet conversations they were having and how she loved listening to her daughter’s heart. While I did give them a bit of direction, I really tried to just sit back and capture their sweet bond. I can tell you that this little girl loves her Momma and I know the feeling was mutual.
