Family is messy. Family is chaotic. Family is joyful. I love being able to capture all of these facets of the families I work with.

I have known this family for many years. We met when our kiddos were participating in the same sporting activity. We sat together for hours watching our kiddos and enjoying lots of conversations. When we first met, they only had two kiddos. I had the privilege of watching their sweet family grow by one. When mom contacted me about a family photo session, she admitted that they hadn’t had family photos for quite some time. I hear this a lot. I get it, family photos are not always in the budget, it takes a lot of coordination to find the right photographer, the right clothing, etc.

I will say that when families do commit to getting photos, I know it’s a sacrifice for many. I am honored to document your family’s history. This family has changed and grown, and hope they will always remember how they felt when they look back at these photos.

Were their kiddos perfect – no – but that doesn’t matter. I am committed to documenting families as honestly as possible. Are some kiddos a bit shy – like the youngest little guy in this family? Let’s document that so in years to come, you will remember exactly how he looked when he comes to snuggle with you when he is being a bit shy around the new person who wants to take his photo.
