A Different Kind of Year
Golly, I love photographing kids! I love being silly in order to make them laugh. I love watching them come out of their shell and give me their “real” smile. I just love being a school photographer. And then, 2020.
I don’t think I have to remind anyone about what an unusual year 2020 was. So many things that we took for granted were suddenly postponed or cancelled. Schools closed in March and we weren’t sure if they would reopen in August. As a school photographer, I wasn’t sure if I would get to take school photos of the kiddos that attend the schools I work with.
As the summer started to draw to a close, I was excited to learn that this school would be meeting in person and they did want to offer school photos. I was excited and ready to gear back up.
A Different Kind of Day
Like most schools in the US, this school requires anyone who enters the school to wear a mask. Of course I was more than happy to accommodate their request to wear a mask while I photographed the kiddos. I will say that I struggled with the viewfinder of my camera fogging up because of the mask. As a result, I took more out of focus images than I usually do because I couldn’t see as well. Even with all that, I think we had a very successful school photo day!
Take a look at some of the images I captured that day!
